If McC drinking was the issue, the article about McC "downfall" as a skins executive would absolutely be about his struggles, addiction, etc. There also would be evidence of issues or events cited. There isn't any.

The problem, of course, is whether the article is authoritative, or speculative. If authoritative, then you would be right. But it isn't. It's reporters culling sources and making an article out of it. We don't, and may never, know the full story, but to assume only wrong on one side, ie "drinking was never an issue", seems to imply a bias in the reporting to me. An alcoholic, just like any other addict will have days and weeks where his/her addiction overrides his/her ability to function at work.
