On the same theme he could go with
MOHAWK - an EASTERN tribe, warrior culture, well known (a tribe used in the famous American novel and movie, “Last of the Mohicans”) AND - no need to change the fight song or most of the team gear. They may change the Native American profile on the helmet back to the ARROW profile. My best guess now: MOHAWK CHEYENNE It will be MOHAWK if the tribe agrees to it.
