If they can replace Smith with somebody as good or better, great! I'd just hate to lose a proven talent evaluator and be left with another BA or Vinny. Which is why I'd like to see him retained along with the new hire.

Yeah, I get it.

I'm not so sure the success that everybody seems to be attributing to Kyle (although I haven't seen anything that shows he's solely responsible for any of the drafts) can't be duplicated by someone else, perhaps with more experience, whom they have their eyes on. I think people are largely comparing Kyle, and his purported draft success, to previous Redskins drafts, rather than what someone else outside of the organization might be capable of.
