Re: A bad win is better than a good loss WFT vs Seattle post-game thread
We HAVE to consider our ST coach position, if not now, in the off-season. We could be on our 4th kicker now. We let an obvious overload on our left break through the middle way too easy (always coached you block inside out on FG team). Our hands team should have cleaned that up on the first attempt, let alone nearly lose it on the 2nd. This is all down to coaching.
And sort out the secondary communication. On an early game play or 2, maybe a blown coverage is tolerable, but when you KNOW they're passing and need a TD and a 2 pointer, you have to play smarter to win. Scott Turner called a good game overall, but his short yardage calls were too much of an open book. He has to be more creative than that, and it doesn't take risky plays to do that. What about Samuel, McK and AG in the backfield together? 3 TE set? Wildcat? They ran Samuel twice for positive yardage, but didn't consider him on 3rd and 1 or use him as a diversion. Hats off to TH, though that pick was too risky a throw, effectively double coverage. AG (I love how he finished that one run bouncing the DB off him (Reed?), front 7 stuffing the run. OL banged up but still playing power football. Playing December football. |
