skinsguy -- one could argue Gibbs' never really got his offense on track since being back. I don't feel Gibbs offense was very good, but he's great as a head coach. His top job should be motivation and overseeing. As far as a playcaller I find him a bit too conservative. Also, it's no secret that implementing a smoot offense typically takes MUCH longer than a defense. Defense often comes down to talent over scheme, while offense can work that way but normally seems to be scheme over talent.
As I said, in my opinion, a good head coach is an overseer. He studies all aspects of a game, and goes to someone like Williams and gives him hypotheticals. Make other coaches see things from the other angle, what could work vs that, etc. To be honest, Saunders also went down field in KC a lot more than he is here. Just because it was a TE doesn't matter, I think that's the biggest thing missing from this play book.
