What's the worst sports related injury you've ever had?
I was just inspired by the football position thread, but I feel like this topic deserves it's own thread.
So what's the worst sports related injury you've ever had/caused/saw in person? I was fairly lucky in terms of avoiding injuries even though I played sport throughout most of my childhood/teenage years. I did have a good amount of concussions (like 6-7, maybe, which was probably a few too many). I got them from a couple of different sports like baseball (1), football (~2), and wrestling (~3), plus a fall when I was 3 (cracked my skull on that one). But, the worst sports injury I had was a badly broken nose when I was in 12th grade. Most people just break the cartiledge but I actually broke tip of the bone at the base of my nose, inbetween my eyes. I caught a knee to the face in wrestling practice, and right away I knew it was broken because I heard a big crunch. I had a bloody nose off and on for about 6 hours, so that was annoying, but driving myself home with a huge bloody rag was pretty funny. The thing that was annoying was that I could actually see the side of my nose out of my left eye when I looked straight ahead, plus I was having trouble breathing, so I had to get surgery. When I woke up from the surgery my face hurt more than when I actually broke it. What probably sucked the most was that I had to wear a big soft plastic mask for the rest of the season. It was really hard to see and breath out of it and opponents would some times grab at it. The only benifit was that I could cheat and use it was a weapon. Overall, it sucked, but I'm sure many of you guys have gone through worse.
