Apparently, John Walker Lindh's parents are seeking a commutation of his
sentence. They portray their son as someone who was on a spiritual pilgrimage who was a victim of the post-9/11 climate. I guess they forgot to mention that he carried an AK-47, grenades, met Bin Laden a few times, swore an allegiance to Bin Laden as a member of Al Qaeda, stayed with Al Qaeda after 9/11, and told a CNN reporter after his capture that his experience in Afghanistan was "everything [he] thought it would be." I personally have no problem with him sitting in jail for another 15 years.
