Campbell's senior year at Auburn, the one where they went 13-0, they ran a version of the West Coast offense under Al Borges (heavily influenced by Bill Walsh). Campbell's stats that year: 188-270 (69.6%), 2700 yds, 20 TDs, 7 INTs. 20 TDs might sound low, but consider that he was handing the ball off to Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown, who combined for 2079 rushing yards and 20 TDs. That was Campbell's 4th offense in 4 years at Auburn.

On top of that you have a guy in Jim Zorn (a quarterback in his playing days) who has spent the last 7 years molding Matt Hasselbeck into the All-Pro quarterback that he is today, as well as helping Seneca Wallace along.

So I wouldn't say it's the wrong offense for Campbell. And while he'll have some growing pains learning the new offense, I think he'll grasp it just fine and will be able to lead the team on the field this year.
