I see your point, but you're a little off on the comparison.
Gruden was an OC of the Eagles under Rhodes before getting a HC position.
Reid was QB coach AND Asst. Head Coach before getting the HC position.
Mariucci was a QB coach for the Packers, but left to be the HC of the Cal Bears before getting hired as the HC of the 49ers.
Zorn was OC for Utah St., but never anything higher than QB coach in professional football, and never even a HC for any college team. So it's not really fair to compare those 3 coaches to Zorn, they took a completely different path and had more experience in a more important position with their respective teams.
I'm not saying Zorn will do poorly, but to compare him to others that coached with a higher rank is not a fair comparison.
