Annika Sorenstam, arguably the greatest player in LPGA history, will retire at the end of this season ESPN - Citing other priorities, Sorenstam to retire at end of season - Golf And, in a bit of a shocker, Justine Henin the top ranked female tennis player in the world and three-time defending French Open champion has retired effective immediately ESPN - Henin retires on top of rankings after early-season slump - Tennis I know they don't get as much pub as the likes of Tiger woods or Roger Federer, but their remarkable careers and news of their retirements should not go unnoticed.
