Well, if I can clarify:

Devin Thomas' choice was to get paid now, or spend another year in college to better his game. That is a dualism, as spending another year in college to improve ones game means he is not allowed to enter the draft. It has to be one or the other.

I wouldn't doubt that Thomas wants to help the Redskins win. That seems pretty fundamental. If you want to play professional ball, you probably want to win while doing so. I would argue that he wasn't the best choice for a team looking to improve itself, but that's another debate entirely.

I was simply addressing the dualism that dmek was assuming between 1) wanting to win, and 2) wanting to get paid. I don't believe one exists there. I think people can both want to win and get paid.
