Wow, now we all feel like jerks. I hope everything turns out OK. You should use this as an opportunity to let her know she can (and should) tell you anything, that you're willing to listen and deal with anything with her. It's not an excuse to treat you bad, but it is very understandable...she was probably very scared and was afraid of the worst.
