The argument the NFL makes, and it makes sense, is that then everyone is going to want to start using their uniform as a message board essentially to pay tribute to lost loved ones. LaVar would draw something for his deceased cousin. Coles might have a high school teammate who passed away that he wants to honor. Jacobs an old pop warner coach. It could go on and on
My personal feeling is that while that argument makes sense exceptions should be made when you're paying tribute to a fellow NFL player
