There is something strange going on here. Levi Jones can still play; he is not old and he's not wracked with injuries. He does not have the reputation for being "felonious". So, why are the Bengals - - not a team with a real deep roster - - so anxious to draft his replacement and move him out?


Is there something dark here? Or is this just an example of why the Bengals are the Bengals?

"After missing just one game during his first four seasons, Jones has missed 17 during the past three. Last year he suffered a season-ending leg injury against Philadelphia and missed the last six games."

That might not count for being "wracked" with injuries by Redskins standards, but missing 1/3 of the teams games over the past three season's doesn't exactly suggest he is reliable. I don't think you need to go searching too deeply for "darkness," they must have perceived him as an injury risk with diminishing returns whose replacement was already in-house. Whether that is right or not I don't know, but I don't think you need a conspiracy theory to explain the release.
