It's a bullshit idea because no one ever defines what is supposed to happen to the Madden cover athlete. Is it supposed to be a season ending injury? Decline in performance? Because one or both of those things happen to 90% of superstars in this league.

I don't have any voodoo dolls, dreamcatchers, and don't believe in curses That being said, if something bad happens in at least 7 out of 11 cases (counting 2 for 2010) then I'm not accepting the cover if I'm an NFL superstar. I certainly don't want to see any Skins on the cover.

Injury is injury. At least half of the cover guys had some sort of injury forcing them to miss games.
