Re: Zorn to coach the rest of the season
I do not think this "backing" of Zorn is slowing down any agenda at all.
Even though they have assured Zorn the season at the least, that does not mean that a coaching search and interview process can not commence immediately. Just because Zorn has the job for the season, does not stop Snyder from interviewing as early as Tuesday. Front office can start screening and interviewing, taking thier time over the next couple fo months so they have a solid candadite, with an "agreement in priciple" already in place by January. This does not slow down the process at all. Shanahan, Cowher, Holmgren, Gruden...none would ever take a coaching job mid-season. Reports are that Shanahan already turned the job down the week after the Detroit loss. But that does not mean that Danny-boy cannot convince Shanahah (or any of the other top tier coaches) over the next 8-10 weeks to take the job for next season. |
