Re: Time to Build an Offensive Line
I believed it was Smootsmack who brought up the idea..
However, I'm not sure if I would like the idea.. Giving up a 2nd rounder (or trading Landry) for a proven LT might sounds good.. But I really believe we would get better player if we draft a T with our 2nd round pick by drafting Charles Brown or whichever T falls down to 2nd round slot.. Jammal Brown is 28 years old, which means he would only have maybe 4 years left in him.. Jermon Bushrod is 25, however, from what I saw in the super bowl game.. Bushrod almost couldn't handle Freeney by himself - Freeney had fracture foot or something.. Which means Bushrod wouldn't be able to handle a healthy Freeney-alike player.. I think (or hope) Landry will become the player this year that we expected him to be last two seasons.. If we traded Landry to Saints for either T and Landry emerges as elite player, then they definitely would have gotten the better value out of this trade.. |
