In the end I think Philly did a poor job on the communications end when trade rumors started to swirl a few weeks ago. The longer it dragged on, the viable options started to dwindle and they were in a PR pickle. There's no way in hell the Redskins were on the radar when this all started. I feel like we lucked up big time on this one.

I doubt that someone working in the FO would just look at age of other QBs as a significant reason behind their decisions. I think it's all Shanahan believing he can make it work with McNabb, and there is evidence that he can boost a QB's performance. Even the illustrious Elway underwent a huge stat inflation under Shanahan. Jake Plummer, a 4000+ ydseason. Steve Young had a monstrous SB performance.
