As stated earlier, any pick used in the supplemental draft is taken from the teams draft picks for the following year. We would only give up a first if we bid a first round pick to take him. We could wait and hope no one else uses a first, then we could use a second. Or, we could wait and hope no one uses a second and pick him with our third, etc. etc.

I also think the draft is done on a bidding process - each team faxes in who they want to draft in what round and the player is awarded to the highest pick bid. But don't quote me on that.
