No offense but that is absurd; Trent's talent is so obvious this statement just seems crazy to me.
Trent would be the guy if he walked in off the street the day before the Saints game.

The question is: can you rely on him? I think the speculation here is, going into the off-season, there was a need to improve LT depth. Was/is Compton the answer? Only time will tell

Here's how I see it.

There are already 3 possible back-ups RT ahead of him: Polombus, Willie Smith and Maurice Hurt there is only 1 guy ahead of him at LT Willie Smith.
Having a 3rd guy that can play LT is more valueable then having a 4th guy at RT.
