it doesn't matter what lead to the other
he's a decent (though well liked) broadcaster, but the game that caries his name is a much bigger part of gaming culture than he is to football culture. (if you take out madden NFL andd his insistance to make the game as lifelike as possible, there's no guarantees that football games would be nearly as good now... if he doesn't broadcast, someone else takes his place and that's that)
it is amazing he's been broadcasting since 1980 though.
