Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

How I'd rate the CBs in the draft (w/out some of those obvious guys that will go clearly before we pick)

1. Johnathan Banks
2. Jamar Taylor
3. Jordan Poyer
4. BW Webb
5. Nickell Robey
6. Leon McFadden
7. Tyrann Mathieu
8. Darius Slay
9. Robert Alford
10. Tharold Simon

Also heres the latest small school prospects list you should check out.

FWIW, I added my initial notes on these players:

1. Johnathan Banks - Great athlete, heady, plays under control.
2. Jamar Taylor - Average CB, willing tackler.
3. Jordan Poyer - Exciting player, great PR.
4. BW Webb - Looks and plays small.
5. Nickell Robey - Excellent college player but too small.
6. Leon McFadden - Talented but raw.
7. Tyrann Mathieu - Small, character issues.
8. Darius Slay - No notes.
9. Robert Alford - Great cover skills, speed.
10. Tharold Simon - Big, covers well. Poor tackler.

Here are a few more who I like:

1. Bidi Wreh-Wilson - Good cover, run support. Good hands?
2. Logan Ryan - Covers, blitzes well. Good tackler.
3. Adrian Bushell - Fast, covers, tackles. Great ST, KR/PR.

As I mentioned, those were my first notes when I started to look at them. Since then, more information has become known about some of them.

Banks apparently has marginal speed. That would be the only reason we could have a shot at drafting him. If he had run a 4.4 forty, he'd surely go in the 1st Round.

Unfortunately for him, Robert Alford has Crohn's Disease. I have no idea how that will affect his ability to play in the NFL. He's a heckuva football player, though. If the Skins were to draft him, I'd be very pleased.

Not new news, but:

Despite the negatives about him, Tyrann Matthews is a football player. He has great instincts and determination and he could be a steal for some team.

Leon McFadden only played one season at CB. He is very talented and would be a great pickup in the 5th or 6th Round, IMO.

Likewise, Adrian Bushell is an exciting, multi-talented player who might be there as late as the 6th Round. He could really help on ST while he develops.

I know this post is long, but I'm really excited about the DB's in this year's draft who I think could help the Skins.

McFadden has played in the secondary since he was a freshman. You sure you aren't thinking about JJ Wilcox who only played one year as a senior in the secondary?

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm confused. I'm an old geezer, you know.

BTW, Wilcox looks like a very good late round safety prospect.

Yeah, I'll make me safety list later. I can already tell you that Rambo and Elam are at the top.

They spent a lot of time during the NCAA Football season scouting Banks and Slay

They're rumored to like Alford, but I don't know about that

They've shown interest in Wreh-Wilson's teammate Gratz...which probably means they're really interested in Wreh-Wilson

App State Demetrius McCray could be a late round/UDFA pick

I think they're leaning Poyer

Ahhh here's that smootsmack info I love to read (Where's your sources?!?; kidding you missed that when you were gone)

Yeah I'm not high on Alford because he unlike janoris Jenkins never played against top talent. And he is going to be 25 with Crohn's disease.

Banks I love. I don't give two craps that his forty sucks. If he can play and do well against the best than, he can play in the NFL as a CB. Darius slay he's solid but other than his name there's not much I like about him.

Like I said I don't like any Uconn defenders, it's a system full of good to average players.

Ill have to check out the app state kid

I would be fine with that, but we would have to go safety in round three

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
