re: Update: Second Boston Marathon Suspect Captured
Quote:
I think that he could be a nutcase, like at Aurora or Sandy Hook, who just just wanted to kill a lot of people. But I think the odds are greater that it was political in nature. I agree that if you have beef with political target, be it a goverement or a corporation, an aboration clinic or medical lab, history tells us you would attack that specific organization and not attack random people. But if you are acting alone, in a small group, or with limited funding you may be unable to attack a specific organization without killing yourself in the process or having any chance of getting away. Think about it this way. If someone blew up a bunch of people on a subway in DC on the 4th of July, would you think its most likely political or most likely a nut case kid like Adam Lanza? I just dont feel like its a nutcase, or at least the type of nutcases we have ailed with as Nation most recently. And I think you misunderstood me. I dont think the person or persons have to be part of an islamic or anti-American group, but i think they could be. My guess is that its a lonewolf or a small group of less than 5 people. And because i believe the bomber to be part a small group my guess is that it could be for any reason. My odds: 25% Someone crazy (like your leaning towards). 25% Someone thats part of a fringe left or right group. 50% Someone who considers himself part of an islamist group or sympathises with an anti-America group.
