Amerson's problem is with his eyes, I don't know how that would transfer to FS over a CB. I like the idea of a big corner. I would now say that CB is lookin good and competitve. You could almost say it is a strength now that we have four potential starters. Good competition is a big plus.

Realistic chance of finding a starting FS this year in the draft 25-35%

I did hear we cleared 2 mil of cap space by restructuring JW's contract. Maybe they have thier eye on a FA FS.
Great post. I'm excited about amerson, he was one of the DB's I wanted besides badger and the CB Taylor from BSU.

david amerson ultimate highlight - Yahoo Search Results

Watch the first video entitled David Amerson Ultimate Highlight Video.

Dare I say that he plays alot like our last 6'2 defensive back. Fast, powerful, a knack for the ball, and aggressive. Like what I see there. If he can play that fast and instinctful in the nfl he will be a beast.

With his size and speed Amerson is going to be a beast on corner blitzes and we all know Haz loves those.

Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3

I could see Reed being a hybrid player in that he can line up at TE, WR, and in the backfield. He could be good in our system, definately has potential.

A healthy Davis and this guy could be, like some else said a matchup nightmare.

Reed was a great pickup, but this probably means goodbye to Chris Cooley for sure.

Thought that was a given, since he isn't in the roster.

Cooley was gone regardless. Hell, the only reason he was back last year was because of Fred's injury. We probably can say goodbye to Niles Paul though, unless Mike decides to keep 4 TEs.

I think this also shows Fred his time here is short. Reed is faster than Davis, and doesn't have that achilles injury that'll hamper his speed. The writing is definitely on the wall. Fred's last year here.

I could see Paul being gone if Davis is close to healthy.

Honesty I would have rather had Terrance Williams if he fell to is there, but oh we'll.

Why get rid of Davis? If you do that, you will have to draft another TE in the near future. Niles Paul isn't a real TE, and Cooley was just brought back as an emergency. I made the comment about CC, because this is probably it for him. For the better part of the decade, Chris was one of the few consistent bright spots for us.

Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3

Feeling really good about tonight's picks. I know everyone is clamoring for a safety or another CB other than Amerson. However, we drafted some crazy athletes tonight. Kipeer said it best, Amerson had a bad year last year and he had 5 picks. Good luck for linebackers and safeties having to cover both Davis and Reeds. Shanny put on a draft clinic tonight...you never reach for need...BPA is the way to go. Oh yeah an I get all of the ranking systems for prospects but Am person was without a doubt best CB just Twp years ago and would have easily been a top 15 pick in last years draft...and we got him at pick 51....Draft so far is an A for me!!
