I agree 100% with you. I mean he told the story and then he was like I don't care if you use my real name, I'm ready to accept whatever consequences I face...and yet, here we are playing "Where In The World Is Carnen San Diego" with him

Yeah, he really should have stayed around so he could be locked up in solitary confinement with nobody ever hearing a peep from him until he's convicted through our busted ass judicial system.

I think I'll take this guys advice before anybody. He should know, he was in the same situation pretty much.

Daniel Ellsberg: NSA leaker Snowden made the right call - The Washington Post

Quote:
He would almost certainly be confined in total isolation, even longer than the more than eight months Manning suffered during his three years of imprisonment before his trial began recently. The United Nations Special Rapporteur for Torture described Manning’s conditions as “cruel, inhuman and degrading.” (That realistic prospect, by itself, is grounds for most countries granting Snowden asylum, if they could withstand bullying and bribery from the United States.)

Re: PrismmmMMMMmmmm, good! NOT!

^I dont think you can relate the 2 situations as same. Very different time and the media coverage actually would have provided some sort of security for Snowden.

I actually think if he does end up in South America, its gonna be much more dangerous for him. I think our government well have "more options" in dealing with him. But hey, he doesnt fear the consequences.

I think what the public doesnt understand is that passed information to China and Russia puts a lot of people lives at risk around the globe working to keep us safe here. Not just Americans either.

Really? How much access has Bradley Manning had? Do tell.

Exactly how are people's lives at stake? You are parroting the exact same statement as many of these governmental agencies/politicians. This isn't a situation where operatives are being outed. Hell, Cheney outed a CIA agent and got Haliburton stock increases, not a jail sentence.

Exactly what does this have to do with anarchists? This isn't about whether government is bad.

The issue at hand here:

1) We have a Constitution that provides for the protection of people's privacy through the 4th amendment.

2) We have a government currently breaking this amendment.

3) We have a informant that rats out the governments illegal activities.

4) We have our politicians backing said program even though they never attended NSA security meeting.

5) We have a president that in 2008 lauded that we needed people within our government to out such illegal activities, yet is now trying to charge such a person with espionage.

This has nothing to do anarchy.

Apparently it did Whoooooooooosh right over my head. Damn you!!

Why do you regret joining in on a conversation that is important to our society and culture as a whole? It would be one thing if people were flipping their wigs or trying to crucify you.

Bush-Cheney began illegal NSA spying before 9/11, says telcom CEO

Dick Cheney really is a piece of shit. This man should be tried for treason and war crimes. I'd be down with a public hanging as well.

Quote:
In 2007 the Denver Post reported:
""Nacchio suggested that the NSA sought phone, Internet and other customer records from Qwest in early 2001. When he refused to hand over the information, the agency retaliated by not granting lucrative contracts to the Denver-based company, he claimed.""
Other sources corroborate the former CEO's allegations, which were made in the course of his legal defense against insider trading charges. Both Slate.com and National Journal have published reports in which sources are quoted which support the former CEO's claims.
Speaking on “FOX News Sunday" this weekend in defense of the Obama administration's NSA PRISM program, which has caused a national uproar over the sweeping intrusion by the government into American citizens' emails, live chats, and other electronic communications, Cheney said:
"
“Now, as everybody has been associated with the program said if we had this before 9/11, when there were two terrorists in San Diego, two hijackers, able to use that program, that capability against the target, we might have been able to prevent 9/11,”"
However, the presence of such powers in the hands of the present administration did not succeed in preventing the Boston Marathon attacks, even though the suspects were already well-known to the FBI, and one allegedly told law enforcement, while in the hospital, that they were able to "download plans for pressure cooker bombs from the Internet.
In the same interview on "Fox news Sunday" Cheney called NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden a "traitor."

They asked for some records which is a far cry from what the NSA is doing now. The article is misleading and gave no evidence of any actual spying before 9/11.

Feds tell Web firms to turn over user account passwords | Politics and Law - CNET News

This shit is stupid. Watching our country destroyed by the very people sworn to protect it. The only thing they are protecting is corporate wealth and their hold on power.

NSA flubs a campus recruitment visit:

4. They are just doing their jobs. I’m not sure why this is a defense. It didn’t work at Nuremberg. And, it shouldn’t work now. This is not to compare what is happening now as somehow equal to or better or worse than the German holocaust, but to underscore a philosophical point Hannah Arendt made about the nature of modern evil: It’s banal. That means it hasn’t got a pitchfork or horns sprouting out of its head. Rather, it is thousands of ordinary people just doing their jobs.
