I didn't stretch anything. You made a truth claim above. You said when a President speaks, he speaks "fact," whereas when anyone else speaks, they speak only "opinion." Those are your words, not mine.

And your claim is patently false. Presidents offer "opinions," even "untruths," all the time. And non-Presidents offer "facts" all the time.

I'll presume this is the statement you are talking about, correct?
" Since Franklin was or is not President in his time or this one his words are merely his opinion .....not fact ." If you read it I say his words .

When you take a quote from someone from over 200 years ago and try to make it serve your purpose no matter how different the circumstance is , yes it's opinion not fact.
