Man, tough crowd.
It is just not about the stats. I have seen 95% of his games and he is just not a guy that makes you all warm and fuzzy that he can carry a team on his shoulders to victory.
Luck played a huge role in that SB season for the Ravens.
I would not be shocked if they falter this year.

When does "luck" not play a role for any team in the post season?
Throwing 11 touchdowns with no picks in a postseason is an all time great performance and not just luck, not even manning could do that. He outplayed every quarterback he went against (including two that everyone agrees are two of the best to ever play) Plus you look at flaccos numbers and compare them to Brady, manning, and Big Bens numbers from their first 5 years playing and they are actually pretty comparible. (Not better but comparible).
I think you can also make a case every team that wins a Super Bowl needs luck on their side.
But of course only time will tell, but out of all the quarterbacks that got big contracts this year I would take flacco over all of them.

lol the excuses against Flacco are hilarious

All the guy does is win and put up solid numbers and it's F him he sucks. Playoffs every year and a Lombardi trophy but yeah he sucks.

Gimme a break. The Flacco hater crowd lost all their credibility with me after last year. Now it's just strait hatin'.

Ok would you trade Flacco for Robert?

Flacco is just not elite and yup I am HATER when it comes to him and the Ravens; BIG TIME!

If you lived here you be right on the Hate Boat blowing the whistle; trust me.

Ask JoeR or OTM they will tell you it sucks in Raven's country.

1) No

2) I'm a big time hater of Tom Brady, but that doesn't mean I don't think he's elite or one of the best to play the game. Flacco has gotten better each year and has outplayed QBs like Tom Brady (2 years now) or Peyton Maning. I understand you hate the Ravens, as do I when we play them, but they are a great well run franchise and we sorta shut up their fans this year with beating them..although them winning the SB didn't help.

3) I'm sure I would

Great there are plenty of people to stroke their ego's out there. I still hate them and thing the entire team is crap.

I cheer just as hard for them to lose as the Skins to win. Perfect Sunday for me is a Skins win and a Ravens lost.

I don't have to respect anything about them or Flacco I am just Joe Nobody fan. AND yes they were very lucky to have won that SB.

The Ravens SB win was more than just luck.

Luck is always a lame excuse in my book. Teams just don't luck out and win Super Bowls.

I personally enjoy "the refs cost us the game" > Luck

Oh don't get me wrong I agree with you but there is always a smear of luck that can't be denied ,the Giants where lucky the ref didn't call in the grasp on Eli in 07 , had they he'd have only one win not 2

it takes a lot of hard work and practice to get lucky.

when a fat lineman continues to trail a play he knows he will never catch up to but then finds himself in the right spot to recover a fumble, its not luck.

when a ball carrier fumbles the ball out of bounds, its not luck if he switched hands so he was carrying the ball on the outside.

.

I believe that if you work hard enough you make your own luck but I need to know in your example ,why?

im not sure what you are exactly asking of me.

my best assermation is "why does it take a lot of hard work to get lucky in sports?"

- i guess i would point to my examples previously provided. fat boy running down the field futilely trailing the fast boys gets rewarded w a fumble recovery bc he continued to pursue the play and got rewarded for his hussle by being in the right spot at the right time . .

but i often say "it takes a lot of hard work to get lucky" bc he i heard patrick roy say it years ago. i personally havent had an original thought in a long time.

ohhh damn . i just thought of my very own original thought/cliche

"By always being in the right spot, your time will come" ..that kinda sucks ..

''by always being at the right spot at the right time, you will be the first to answer to door when opportunity knocks" ...

"the right spot is by the door, the right time is when opportunity knocks ..

"no one has ever answered a door while sitting on the couch . .

"if you stand by the door and wait, eventually you will be in the right spot at the right time when opportunity knocks ...
