Robert Griffin III took 152 hits in 2012. Here’s how that number can be reduced. - The Washington Post

There's a good interactive graph in that article, and what it showed me, was the way to reduce the hits Griffin takes, is to not play the Bengals!

edit: and it was nice to see a Post article that isn't bashing the Skins. Very well written analysis piece.

Or the Rams , I think they hit RG111 late a number of times . Lets hope R. Helu , C. Thompson (R) and J. Reed (R) can run and make some big plays in the passing game .

50 of the 152 hits came in the first 3 games(about 17/game). Those were games a) where Griffin was just learning about Pro speed, b) the coaches probably were learning what a target he would be, and c) had the replacement refs - and some teams like the Rams - were clearly playing with less than clean intentions.

Over the last 13 games(about 8 per game), all three of those issues seemed to be handled better. And I would expect this year, with a season under everyone's belt, both Griffin and the coaches will be more prepared for how to handle what hits he inevitably takes.

He got absolutely destroyed in the Cincinnati game. They popped him every chance they could.

Well said . Throwing to our backs more and to TE's Davis and Reed should help keep Def's honest .

I wonder if those teams that are credited with no "scramble" hits just couldn't get to Griffin when he took off, until he slid or ran OB; or if they contained him effectively. The Giants seemed like the former, the Steelers the latter.

You are right, I worded it wrong way. I guess I should have said this, Williams and Davis got suspended for marijuana, not PED thus they should not be included in the list since the title is "Redskins move into tie for PED suspension lead". Whichever reasons players get suspended for, is always big deal. I just don't believe that using marijuana should merit suspension but that is different story and it is not right kind of discussion in this thread.

To be clear, 8 Redskins suspended. 5 for PEDs, which ties Seahawks. Coincidence that the Redskins and Seahawks are two of the hottest teams in the NFC??? We'll leave that discussion for another day

Yes but 3 of those players are not on the team anymore. If all of those players are still on our team then I would be concerned. But they are not thus I'm not too concerned about it. It is somewhat alarming that it happened during their tenure with the team, but we chose not to resign them so we don't need to worry about them getting caught again.

And not to mention, Black claimed that he was a scapegoat for NFL office.

Redskins OT Jordan Black insists NFL knew of his medical condition, prescription that resulted in suspension - Washington Times

So you're saying David Stern and Roger Gooddell are one and the same.

Rigged, I tell ya.

Skye Dawson, one of the UDFA's we signed after the draft. Heard good things about him, but will probably land on the practice squad if anything. If he makes the team, it will most likely be because he is a good KO/punt returner.

If he has good hands he looks like he would be more useful then Aldrick. Aldrick is kind of a one trick pony.
