Re: Steelers @ Redskins (Pre season game 2)

I really thought last night would put an end to the Pat White mania ... apparently not.

To be an adequate replacement for Sexy Rexy, he ought to be looking like RGIII v. the teams no-names. I mean spectacular/unstoppable - deep balls hitting WR's in stride, lasers thrown 20-30 yards downfield, checking through to his 3rd or 4th progression.

Instead, Let’s compare shall we?

R. GROSSMAN 10/16 133 8.3 1 1 0-0 83.6
P. WHITE 3/6 22 3.7 0 1 1-5 19.4

Of White’s six passes, the only two that traveled more than 10 yards in the air were incomplete and intercepted. Two of his completions came on roll-outs resulting in “short-left” completions. One other roll-out, “short-left” completion was dropped by Reed. [All of these are essentially one receiver routes]. His one completion from a drop back went for two yards to the short middle on a third and eight. While he made 26 yard on a straight QB boot and one read option run, both were on first down out of a passing set. White is absolutely no threat in the passing game None. Zilch. Zero. Nada. Pagh. The sum of all positive integers and all negative integers of an infinite number line centered on the 50 yard line.

So, at the end of the 3rd and through the 4th quarters, on five drives, and against guys who will be bagging groceries in a month, White through for an amazing 22 yards and an interception.

White’s Pass/Run Plays:
1st and 10 at WSH 20:
(Shotgun) P.White pass short left to N.Paul to WAS 27 for 7 yards (K.Wilson).

1st and 10 at WSH 14:
P.White pass short left to E.Kettani ran ob at WAS 27 for 13 yards.

1st and 10 at WSH 27:
P.White pass incomplete deep left to D.Briscoe.

3rd and 8 at WSH 29:
(Shotgun) P.White pass short middle to N.Williams to WAS 31 for 2 yards (S.Thomas, R.Ventrone).

1st and 20 at WSH 22:
P.White pass incomplete short left to J.Reed.

3rd and 14 at WSH 28:
(Shotgun) P.White sacked at WAS 23 for -5 yards (N.Williams).

1st and 10 at WSH 37:
(Shotgun) P.White right end pushed ob at 50 for 13 yards (S.Thomas).

1st and 10 at 50:
(Shotgun) P.White left end pushed ob at PIT 37 for 13 yards (T.Garvin).

2nd and 8 at WSH 44:
(Shotgun) P.White pass deep left intended for L.Lewis INTERCEPTED by D.Smith at PIT 38.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Washington Redskins - Play By Play - August 19, 2013 - ESPN

Bottom line, White is barely qualified to be a camp arm.
