Re: Why Stopping the Read-Option Isn't as Easy as You Think
The only part I disagreed with was when you compared him to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is a slightly better passer, but in terms of atleticism, RG3 is miles ahead. Sure, Rodgers can run, but he's not in the same class as RG3. A 4.41 40 yard time, 76 yard TD run, and 600 yards rushing are things Rodgers could never accomplish. RG3 was recruited to play safety at Texas, participated at the Olympic trials, and dunked in the 8th grade, when he was 5'6". RG3 has a 39" verical; Rodgers' is 34". What more can be said?

Re: Why Stopping the Read-Option Isn't as Easy as You Think
I actually think the game that is most revealing of potentially how to stop the read option was not the Rams game, which was full of cheap shots that most officiating will prevent or punish, but rather the Bengals game. I thought there was a bunch of legal hits to RGIII in that game, that they decided that they'd hit him if given the chance, and that it wore down on us a bit over the course of the game (which we lost).
