I am not willing to throw Shanahan under the bus completely. It's just one game. And MS certainly has turned our franchise around.
That said, all of the missed assignments, missed tackles, and lack-of-concentration plays indicate that the team was not mentally ready. That is a coaching failure. On this note, he was outcoached. Given that the season is long, and it is better to look good in December than in September, perhaps Shanny was just going easy on folks week one, thus resulting in our embarrassing showing.
