After informing a boss that I was resigning she proceeded to tell me how much I will be missed, how I couldn't be replaced, etc. but that, fortunately, "we just advertised for another position, I am sure we can find someone qualified to do your job in the stack of applicants."

Same woman who announced to the office she was leaving and that they were putting together a "blue ribbon search committee" in order to scour the nation to find someone who could replace her ... and then turned to her Deputy Counsel and said "Oh, XXXX, I hear you're applying too! Good luck!!". [He ended up getting the job].

Worst. Boss. Ever.
