Re: Postgame thoughts
theres ssome hate to brunell (i think) because he throws shorter passes and (even in preseason) iss less willing to go deep.
He doesn't make mistakes, but he makes less big plays too. Either way, he was fine, but I would have liked at least 1 TD. Moss 4 for 96, 24ypc avg, that' not a bad start. patten was a bit quiet, hopefully we'll see him and jacobs go for gold on monday. ST on offense would've been nice to see him catch one, but if you guys wanted a big receiver, he's 232 f**king pounds.

Re: Postgame thoughts
Post game thought...any joy from the victory was tampered by Gibb's post game were basically Brunnell is going to be our QB. Get ready for a loss in Big D...Brunnell is NOT a NFL caliber QB anymore, a servicable back-up maybe, but not a starter. I don't recall him hitting a single reciever in stride, like Ramsey did with Santa Moss, nor does he seem to look off the DB's, hell Orton looked more poised and even pumped faked, Brunnell locks-on his receivers like a rookie. It is going to be a long year again.
Gibbs just cannot except the fact that he made a mistake with Brunnell. His postgame all emphasized was that Brunnell does not make mistakes, which is fine and good, but in the modern NFL you have to stretch the field and take chances with down the field throws...as soon as Brunnell stepped out on the field I felt like I was in the movie Ground Hog day, except this time it was watching last years offense all over again. I hope I am wrong...I really do, but my gut instinct says otherwise. |

Re: Postgame thoughts
While its nice to start off the year with a win, I just get the feeling that unless our Def holds opponents under 10-12 pts each game, we are in trouble.
Our offense may give up more points to the other team than our def. |
