Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
Hell, I'd say sign his son. Have DG come to all practices and everything and also have him to coach our current DBs. Hell maybe even suit him up some and sneak him in some games.. I have no doubt hes still fast and can play better than some we have now if not most.

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
any coincidence that Nick Stephens and Jared Green both spent solid time with the Cowboys?

Smoke screen. I don't see us signing anyone barring injury. I wish we would at least sign a safety. We need all the help back there we can get.

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
LOL I clicked on Jason Smith in the first paragraph and it took me to a basketball players biography. Pretty sure not the same guy.

The basketball player is probably a better guard than the Jason Smith drafted by the Rams. Three teams have already given up on him.

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
I wish we would invite Chris Rainey or Kerry Rhodes for a workout. Rainey would be electric in our system and on special teams. Rhodes could be a major help in the secondary, regardless of his sexual orientation.

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
rhodes being gay has to be the reason teams aren't signing him

Re: Redskins Try Out 18 Players
It would be really messed up if it was. Teams not signing a proven vet, who had a good year last year ( 58 tackles and 4 ints). Seems very odd.

Besides the possibility of a few players not wanting a gay teammate, the real issue here is teams not wanting the crazy media circus that a gay NFL player would bring to town. Jason Collins is a scrub who can barely make an NBA team and averages more fouls per game than points per game and we had to hear about him every day for 3 months including the President calling him a "hero" for having sex with men. It has less to do with his lifestyle and more to do with the crapstorm of attention and distractions that would come with him. I don't want that distraction. It will be worse than if we signed Tim Tebow. The media ruins more careers than it helps and Rhodes is another victim. If the media's world wouldn't stop because of non-stories like a player's sexual orientation, their religious beliefs or their supermodel girlfriends...teams would not have to consider the rabid packs of drooling reporters when picking talent for their rosters. I'd love to have Rhodes on this team as a player...but I don't want the gay media parade that will come with him if it's true. I don't care either way, just stop Dez Bryant and pick off Eli Manning a couple of times and you're good with me as a Redskin. Oh yeah, and don't do drugs, drive drunk and avoid raping and murdering people. Who you sleep with doesn't matter to me, but sadly, the media is obsessed with it.
