I think it's almost impossible to ask 53 men, majority of whom don't have job security and are always auditioning for their livelihood, to not try as hard so next year (by the way they might not be there next year) you can have a top draft pick. Imagine walking up to London fletcher who only had a couple of seasons left and trying to convince him not to try as hard.

Not to mention if you are a coach and go 1-15 you probably would be fired, no matter who you are.

I also think that just to make it to the NFL, you have to be one of the most competitive men in the US, especially if you are a coach, there are only 32 positions in the entire world. I don't think they have it in their DNA to want or even accept losing. Plus if the owner found out... Losing costs money. That's what owners care about most.

But of course, it's not the craziest thing that would have been done so you never know what happens behind closed doors.
