Sure management at the time was idiotic. Trust me, I get that - the thought of VC makes me wretch. So, yeah, they got taken advantage of b/c they were stupid. Stupider than most others at the time.

Regardless, it's the old adage - two wrongs don't make a right. Sure, given the culture he created, VC got exactly what he deserved - a douche ball, classless, a-hole who was only interested in "show me the money".

That, however, doesn't change the fact that Haynesworth was a douche ball, classless, a-hole.
