Re: Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era
Mike Shanahan quoted on profootballtalk.com:
“One of the reasons why we had the success that we had, probably the type of success where he separated himself from every rookie in the history of the game, is he was able to do some things that other quarterbacks couldn’t do,” Shanahan said. “We had a dual threat. Now that threat is not quite there, as strong as it was a year ago." I wonder how that happened, Shanahan. You moron! I change my vote from Mike Shanahan going away from the 4-3 to the harm he did to RGIII's career (and our chances of winning a playoff game last season as well as our chances of winning this season, and Dan Snyder's investment in RGIII, and NFL football fans everywhere) by playing RGIII when it was obvious that he was seriously injured. I thought I had forgiven MS for that, but this quote reminded me that I haven't. I think that Mike Shanahan's continuing failure to protect RGIII which, I believe, has damaged the relationship between HC and QB, will ultimately be the tipping point that incents Dan Snyder to fire MS at the end of this season. If RGIII gets seriously injured again this season behind this crappy OL, you can be certain that MS will be fired.

Re: Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era
Worst mistakes in Shanahan era:
1) "No, Dan...I'm sure he's ready to be my offensive co-ordinator." 2)"I know Jim is risky, but once we put the 3-4 in place, and give him control, it should work out well." 3)"Call Andy. Tell him I'm absolutely interested. I think Don has a lot left in the tank." 4)"He doesn't look hurt.....keep him in there." 5)"Washington seems like it'll be a great fit for me." |

Re: Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era
Little too early to call the griffin move a bad one. just 3 months ago it was still a good one right lol lets all wait and see. griffin needed to be humbled. let this play out. hell come back next year hungrier to do well than ever and well see.
i just wanna skip to the offseason threads...these mid bad season ones are rough

Re: Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era
The only fair way to judge the trade is to wait a few years to see what all the players involved become. Right now it's just a knee jerk reaction to say either way.

Re: Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era
Also, it depends on Bradford's future too. The Rams passed up RG because they\Fisher believed they already had a franchise QB. Jury still out on Bradford. Lots of factors in that trade.
