Worst Mistake of the Shanahan Era

Mike Shanahan quoted on profootballtalk.com:

“One of the reasons why we had the success that we had, probably the type of success where he separated himself from every rookie in the history of the game, is he was able to do some things that other quarterbacks couldn’t do,” Shanahan said. “We had a dual threat. Now that threat is not quite there, as strong as it was a year ago."

I wonder how that happened, Shanahan. You moron!

I change my vote from Mike Shanahan going away from the 4-3 to the harm he did to RGIII's career (and our chances of winning a playoff game last season as well as our chances of winning this season, and Dan Snyder's investment in RGIII, and NFL football fans everywhere) by playing RGIII when it was obvious that he was seriously injured.

I thought I had forgiven MS for that, but this quote reminded me that I haven't.

I think that Mike Shanahan's continuing failure to protect RGIII which, I believe, has damaged the relationship between HC and QB, will ultimately be the tipping point that incents Dan Snyder to fire MS at the end of this season. If RGIII gets seriously injured again this season behind this crappy OL, you can be certain that MS will be fired.
