All the credit in the world to Coughlin for coaching his ass off when the playoffs weren't a realistic possibility to maintain some level of respectability for something less than $6 million/year in salary. Takes a lot of mental toughness to pull your team out of the crapper.
Someone less tough may have taken the salary and quit on his team. Can't think of anyone though.
