Re: 34th Overall Pick
Tell it like it is, brother man! Draft in April. Make it two action packed days by cutting down the time on the clock. And no damn hugging 'cause this ain't Project Runway.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
I was fine with that back in college but now as a hardcore night owl on weekends the afternoon times are a life saver. Coincidently not a fan of the timing for Night Games as there are times where you have to weigh a good nights rest with watching the rest of the game.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Going back to getting a pass rusher with the 34th pick - wouldn't failing to upgrade the secondary with young talent, negate what the pass rusher would bring if the secondary can't cover the quick passes? It's like the adjustment that Green Bay made last season when Orakpo was getting pressure and sacks early on Aaron Rodgers.
If there's confidence in the secondary with the additions of Ryan Clark and Porter then it's justified (getting a pass rusher), but right now I don't think that's the case. |

If what people were saying about Shanny medling with the defense and dictating playing soft in the secondary, there would be the problem. If it wasnt Shanny, then keeping Haslett was a mistake. It was a simple adjustment to make, we just never made it. Hard to fault the secondary for everything if they are being put in positions to fail and being asked to succeed anyways. Not saying we have a great secondary by any means, but adjusting to simple things like that is the difference between average and terrible. |

And as a part of that - does it say anything that they were attempting to upgrade the secondary in Free Agency? |

As for upgrading the secondary, I think that was a no brainer. We dont have an elite secondary by any means. They still may have failed against Green Bay. But you have to get them the right calls and adjustments, even with a poor secondary. If they continue to fail with those, then its a personnel problem. Ours came across to me as both a personnel problem and a coaching problem compounding the issue. Ultimately giving us the horrible crap we had for the past few years. Easy adjustments werent being made for whatever reason. |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
To me, Ryan Clark and Tracy Porter were good signings assuming that one or both positions were going to be targeted and addressed as a priority in the draft. And I would think that (secondary) would be ranked as top 2 needs and priorities (with Right Tackle/ Offensive Line being the other). The Redskins insiders are reporting that the top priority is to add a pash rusher.
What has been the biggest weakness for the entire team for at least 2 seasons? the secondary. And why not fix the secondary directly rather than indirectly? This is one of the things that doesn't make sense to me. Like I said I don't oppose picking a pash rusher at 34, but making that a top priority to address - as a plan? It doesn't make sense. |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
What about failing to adjust to giving up pressure up the middle on offense in the second half of games?!
