Probably could talk to Trent about that issue

SF may want to trade up for Lee, maybe Carolina would as well

Re: 34th Overall Pick

If they can somehow come away with Kouandijo or Moses and cb Pierre Desir at the end of today- it's an A draft already for me. Addresses 2 out of 3 top positional needs for the Redskins.

I still want to draft either Ricardo Allen or Rashaad Reynolds at CB. Pierre Desir is a good corner; the only real negative is that his level of competition wasn't the best, but he did well at the Senior Bowl. I think he'd be a great selection in the 3rd. Of the other CBs possibly drafted late today...don't like Jaylen Watkins at all, Marcus Roberson would be a good selection in the 3rd, not the biggest fan of Walt Aikens(maybe you have an opinion on him), Bashaud Breeland would be a nice selection, Jemea Thomas is a guy I love, Rashaad Reynolds is another guy I love(I think he's going to be a steal), Nevin Lawson could be a decent pick(not sure), and not really a fan of Antone Exum either.

At safety, Ed Reynolds is the only one left I'd really love us to draft at all, and that's because of his superb tackling. He'd be a reach today, so maybe with our first selection tomorrow.

I won't be happy at all if we don't even attempt to improve depth in the secondary through the rest of the draft.

I wouldn't be unhappy at all with Kouandijo or Moses, or Su'a-Filo at #34.

I agree. If we stay put, these are the only guys I really want. I am for trading down if we can drop a few spots and pick up a 3rd round pick.

Honestly, I have a feeling there is a good potential for a trade. Maybe I'm wrong, but having the draft split up this way makes me think that there is more time for teams to over think the need to trade up for "their guy," and more time for the skins to squeeze them for more.

If we can't get a deal without trading back more then 10 spots, IMO we should stay put. We really really need young talent on the O-line. I think more so then we need quality depth throughout the team. Depth is important, very important, but not as important as having a solid starting O-line.

I would be very surprised if we didn't select one of them at #34. Keeping RG3 protected should take precedent over spending our top pick on defense.

I'd say no to Kouandijo and his knees. I lineman with knee issues, I don't like it but hey. Whoever they take I just hope it works out.

Not to be argumentative, but was there ever a comparable player with the same or similiar condition?

It's just a situation where the Redskins need to do their due diligence and weigh the known risks with draft position/round.

the comparison that jumps out to me is chris samuels and his stenosis.

different pre-existing injuries but it seems both have been told they could play 1 year or 10 years in the NFL, no one can be sure how long.

i havent read the dr andrews article matty linked and am going to do that now.

from the andrews article:

"These types of patterns are real common on those big guys, real common.

"He has a little bit of cartilage wear in his knee, but that's such a common finding in an NFL draft-able player,

my impression - andrews is showing bias to the Alabama program and perhaps a player he got to know as a person and likes. i dont buy that his wear and tear is common - if it was, id assume many more OTs would also have the same chirping going on about their condition.

it sounds like he has the same problem as bowen and other NFL vets - bad knees. only problem is this kid isnt an NFL vet and at his size, the problem (swelling, loss of stability) is only going to get worse .. not better.

The article says he's had no swelling, no pain or ongoing issues.

The injury happened in his freshman year, seems to me he'd be having issues even just practicing let alone playing if the surgery was botched. He didn't miss any games the last 2 years and not even a practice.

Re: 34th Overall Pick

My brain says Moses, going into the season with Polumbus really shouldn't be an option, but as a Badger I would love to draft Chris Borland, team would get a reliable and intelligent leader. If still an option, I would love to swap something like cousins and our 4th to get another second rounder and take both.
