Again, nothing special about his offense above the big time playmakers he has to work with. No HC experience. That team is led by the defense and defensive coaching.

On a personal level I hate the drunk driving. Seen too many lives ruined by it. I think the only way Gruden gets an HC job is because of his brother and all the connections to BA, which means he's our guy. Maybe Cleveland would take a chance on him because it's such a shit franchise but even that I doubt.

Andy Dalton is not a big time playmaker, for starters. And Jay Gruden is quite creative with the playmakers (and non-playmakers) he does have.

The Search For The Next Redskins Head Coach: Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Coordinator Jay Gruden

He does have HC experience, just not at the NFL level. But neither did Joe Gibbs, John Harbaugh, Bill Parcells, Bill Cowher, and so on when they got their first jobs and won Super Bowls with them.

As for the drunk driving, maybe you should get to know the personal lives of other successful coaches as well.

Belichick?

Don't mistake me. Jay Gruden is an upgrade over Mike and Kyle, especially if he turns the defense over to the right guy. But it's disappointing nonetheless. I was hoping BA was good for something more than bringing in his buddy's troubled little brother. Perception is reality, and I don't think Jay Gruden to Washingtion helps with any bad perceptions of the franchise. But, if it opens the door for Jon Gruden, maybe it becomes the right situation...

WTF? How is Jay Gruden "troubled"? By a DUI many years ago?

JG has done wonders with Dalton and the Bengals offense. And, although neither you nor I know him, professionals who do seem to think that he has the leadership qualities required of a HC beyond the X's and O's. This is why several teams, not just his "buddies" at the Skins, are considering him for HC.

I'm not lobbying for Jay Gruden - I don't have a favorite in the process. But to dismiss him the way that you have is not just disrespectful, it's football ignorant.

I agree DUI's do damage many lives and it is inexcusable but many in this league have done a lot worse. Also agree he has connections to Allen because of his brother, but he has not been handed anything. He has coached and worked his own way to where he is. BTW we are a shit franchise too. lol

He does have HC experience. You'd do yourself a great deal of service if you would research something. It's about as lame as you commenting on the play of the team when you didn't even watch the game. C'mon man.
