That would be spectacular.

Gruden and Griffin are going to get along really well. Both are brutally honest, but also very positive personalities.

I'm not quite as convinced that he's the best person to develop him as a passer, but McVay and the QB coach hire will have a hand in that too.

Why? Dalton has improved every year under Gruden. If Griffin threw 30+ td's like Dalton did, the fans would wet their pants. I think he's the perfect guy to develop Griffin. The real question is can Griffin develop?

I agree that Dalton improved, but not in a specific way. He just improved with experience.

I think Gruden managed Dalton as well in 2013 as he did in 2011.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins

This is a coaching hire that I am actually excited for. I think Gruden will have success as a Redskins coach. A lot more success than I thought Shanahan or Zorn would have. He has tied his fate to RG3 and it seems he does not care about outside influences/rumors. I am also relieved they didn't try to reestablish the past by hiring another Shanahan like Cowher or Jay's brother.

I finally see the franchise heading in the right direction. Next year may be a struggle but I think he will be successful and RG3 will start to show he is the best QB out of a very good class.

It's too tough to tell this early on, but I do like that we didn't go with a retread. Solid move IMO.

I agree. It is too early to tell. But I'm more excited for this move than previous ones.

Was anyone else worried about a Maroon and Black moment at the press conference? I sat on pins and needles praying Gruden would NOT make some stupid faux pas.

I wasn't worried that such would happen but am very glad that it didn't.

Hail to the Maroon and Black!

Im kinda stoked, never heard Jay speak and thought he came off great. Like the attitude.

This guy is a douchebag:

Dave Owens asks first Jay Gruden question

Gruden handled it great. Loved his response about not believing everything the media reports.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins

Hard Knocks would be a good way to vanquish some of the perceptions of the team in the national media. Giving everyone a look into our teams chemistry.

I am mixed on the hire, but I am happy with the tone of the team concept. Everyone working together, harmony, balance, and so on.

As long as we fix the d and RG III we will win. That is the only thing that will fix this mess.
