This is equal to: 1) when a QB ducks to try to escape a sack, he lowers his head and the tackler inadvertantly hits the QB's head. or 2) when a WR jumps straight up in the air and catches a ball in bounds, but the DB pushes out of bounds. The ref will call it a completion every time. Jansen's push caused the unfortunate result, not the players intention. If Jansen had not pushed Briggs, Briggs probably would not have gone for his Ramsey's neck. |
