The franchise tag just gives us leverage to get a deal done as well as to gage the market. No problem with it

I'm in that same camp. Bottom line is while he's not a Matthews, Watt or Ware, he's still the best player we have at that position, the right age and one of our own assets that we've cultivated. I'd like to see a long term deal soon so that we can reduce his '14 cap number but at this point, I'm just glad we avoided the drama of him leaving and being a thorn in our side wearing another jersey.
