As someone pointed out, Fletcher was 32 when we signed him. 32 isn't the ideal but if we get 2 solid years that's great and anything more is gravy.

Fletcher is the exception, not the rule.

You're letting your pessimism get the better of you.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this signing. In fact, it's a great signing for us. We're getting a disruptive player who will push the pocket. He has relatively low mileage in terms of career snaps. Has has proven to be durable. We're getting him on what is essentially a two-year cap friendly deal. He was a Pro Bowl player in 2013 when he had more sacks than Brian Orakpo.

What more could you want from Bruce Allen? Perhaps he could come over your place and wash your car if that would make you happier.

I like the signing. I am getting adjusted to new way of doing business at Redskins park. The safety position needs to be addressed with a veteran. I am surprised we haven't set an appointment with Chris Clemons.

I couldn't agree more. I like the way Clemons plays the game. I'm mystified that there hasn't been more of a market for his services. We should take advantage. He's way better than anyone we currently have.

Add Penn and Clemons plus a couple vet min types and I'll be satisfied with what we've done in FA this year.

Edit: Based on the above post, nevermind about Clemons.
