Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Owen Daniels would b an epic waste of a roster spot. Hope we get penn, that would be an upgrade.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
It blows my mind that we get Tracy porter and people are talking about taking a WR in the 2nd and TE in the 3-4th. Seems like to me our porous secondary from last season is our most glaring issue. The first couple rounds need to address safety and cornerback IMO

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I don't think it's a very deep or good draft for that and we went defense last year so I don't think there going to draft another young safety.

However, I'd almost bet my monthly paycheck that a WR will be our first pick, whether we like it or not. Just as his brother is a QB collector, Jay Gruden in Cincy was a receiver collector. The argument that RGIII really could use another elite weapon will win the day. I personally think it is a good argument - in today's NFL, the team with the most weapons often wins. But I also would have signed a good FA safety. Hopefully we will nab a FS like Terrence Brooks in the third.

I would not pick a WR with the 2nd round pick, if a great player slips to the second round I take him... otherwise trade down, and add picks . They still need help everywhere. |

Jason Verrett -TCU Kyle Fuller - VT Bradley Roby - OSU And let me say this. I am not as opposed to a 2nd round pick on a very high quality receiver, if we are certain he is going to pan out, as I am talking about taking a TE in the 3rd/4th. Memories of Thomas/Kelly from a few years ago still brings back nightmares. Yes this league is set up to require multiple talents at receiver to do anything prolific with your offense. But it has also shown you need a shut down secondary to stop those prolific offenses, and as Seattle has just shown us, defense wins championships even against the likes of the immortal Peyton Manning. As others have said, Oline and secondary are our two biggest areas of need. We struck out on Browner, Talib, Thurmond, and probably others I don't even know about. Hatcher was a good signing and I would love to bring in Penn (hope that pans out tomorrow). Secondary is going to have to be addressed. How many times/people pissed and moaned about our porous secondary last year watching meriweather knock himself out and have CB's toasted like marshmallows over a campfire? We need to draft at least one CS and Safety, maybe two, for me to be happy.

Verrett is 5'9" a great productive athlete, injury problems... torn labrum..... maybe if he is there Roby arrested for a bar fight, and suspended in 2013...."Roby had a forgettable senior season with poor performances in big games" No Thanks Fuller rated #59... 24 tackles and 2 interceptions in 2013... sports hernia... not in the early second round Again I never said WR or TE in the second, I like a 2 TE package, we already have one very good one, a second would add a lot to the offense best option is probably trade down |
