Well it was held in one of the private rooms at Crystal City Ruth Chris, overlooking the Potomac/National Airport. Beautiful place. Just appetizers and drinks.

Brown and Campbell (who's father is Marion Campbell) discussed their roles and job descriptions. After that the crowd got to ask questions. Tough questions were asked about Snyder, Shanahan, Cerrato and the 08 draft class. In a nutshell, they took the highroad and said that some of the bad decisions were "Redskin" decisions. Campbell didn't hold back on Fred Davis and basically said his issues were on him. He also implied that Devin Thomas had the talent, and I almost felt that he wanted to blame the coaches for that one.

Larry Michael also spoke. He mentioned how great a talent evaluator Vinny Cerrato was. WTF?? He defended the decision to draft RG3, which wasn't a big deal. He sort of threw Shanahan under the bus w/out giving any details.

Oh...Deshawn Jackson was mentioned. Brown said that Jackson fits 2/3 things they look for, age, health and character. He said..."there are a few things there about character that we need to address"... I found that interesting.

Overall a fun night.

Depends. Not every man may want to spend that kind of cash. At Ruth's Chris, 4 people, and meeting with Redskins Brass - bill was probably 4 digits..

it seems the DS loves big name receivers. thankfully the bengals bungaled the offer we made of 2 1st for ocho cinco.
of course he signs the checks.

I heard that as well overthemountain . I'm concerned over the money but what he brings or can potentially bring to this offense is worth passing up. Hopefully we don't get burned with any deal to be honest, let alone this one. So, if he actually signs then Griffin will hardly ever see 8 man fronts.

Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday

If this deal gets done, I would assume that we're going to transition to more of a pass first offense w/ Jackson, Garcon, Roberts and Reed. This is going to put a lot more pressure on Griffin to perform from the pocket. Just something to look out for...

either way i will be happy.

if he signs, we added an explosive playmaker

if he doesnt, we save some cap money to use elsewhere on a roster with some serious needs still not addressed and he is out of the NFCE.

all good things.

Not sure why everyone's so enamored with us possibly signing this guy. Jackson's a great player, and would upgrade our offense tremendously, but having a great WR corps is a luxury, not a necessity. If we were the Patriots, 49ers, or Panthers, and were one step away from the Super Bowl, then I'd love to sign him. But we're not those teams; we're a team with serious needs on the offensive line and secondary. I suppose if we sign Jackson, Garcon will either be cut or take a pay cut next offseason, so we'd only have a lot of cap tied up at WR for one year, but still... I wish we had gone more heavily after offensive linemen; having a great pass-blocking unit up front would help RG3 more than any great receiver.

Bruce Allen seems to think we're closer to the Super Bowl than I do, and if so, he must see something in our current O-line that allows us to go after a luxury receiver like Jackson. I sincerely hope he's right.

Re: DeSean Jackson meeting with the Redskins on Monday

Latest rumors have Cleveland and San Fran actively in the bidding now. Seems like it's going to shake out, at least from our end, later today. If he leaves the building, he won't be coming back. If it's all about the money, look for him to end up in Cleveland. From a fit, scheme, desire standpoint plus the money is close, look for him to be here.

It all could be agent talk since it's pretty clear the fanbase is on edge with anticipation but Bruce has shown that means very little to him (Byrd, Talib, Sproles, etc) so hold on to your seats kiddos, this could be a rough landing.

My dad always says "no" is the quick answer so if it is taking time probably means good things.

Per sources: San Francisco reached out to DeSean Jackson while he was at dinner with Redskins. They want him to visit. #Redskins #49ers
