On the contrary, Keim usually writes excellent articles. I don't always agree with him, but his articles are generally well-thought out and reasonable.

Yes, I suppose this would be an option as well, but my opinion is that if a team invests money, time, and/or a draft pick in a player, they should have some way of retaining the player even if he wants out. *Edit: At the same time, I hate the exclusive and non-exclusive tags, where the player has very little chance of getting out.* Having no sort of tag at all would mean lesser teams would stay lesser longer, unless they would happen to be a demon in the draft. Maybe do away with the exclusive and non-exclusive tags, but keep the transition tag.

Plenty needs to change, though, because the current system doesn't cut it.
