tbh, if i played GM i did want the 10 mil to be spent on a Safety and RT bc we already had a lot of cap wrapped in WR and we signed roberts for speed but even i wouldnt declare my opinion right this early on.

I think we all wanted a safety, be it Ward, Byrd, Mitchell, etc. but we had just drafted Thomas and Rambo and Gruden probably didnt wanna give up on them. Also, it isn't like we gave DeSean Mike Wallace money. I say the 3 year deal with an option for a 4th was a great deal. Plus, like the Panthers showed, if you get to the QB doesn't matter who your safeties are for the most part.

If Orakpo, Kerrigan, Hatcher, Murphy, and Cofield can get to the QB on a consistent basis, our secondary will get a lot of opportunities to make plays.
